The following is a retyped verion (unedited) forwarded to me by the lawyers of the family.  The children are returned - that's the good news.  The power shown by the CAS is amazing.  There is lot's to do yet.

 The following is a copy of the Interim Supervision Terms which have been agreed to and put in place as a result of today's (July 26th) attendance at Court.

INTERIM SUPERVISION TERMS

The following terms and conditions of supervision shall be applicable until further order of the court.

1. Family and Children's Services of St. Thomas and Elgin shall have announced and unannounced access to the children while in the care of either a parent or caretaker, both in their homes and in school.  The CAS worker can meet privately with the children and shall be able to meet individually with the four oldest children and with the three youngest children, as a group.  In the event that the CAS worker and case manager deem it necessary to interview any of the three youngest children individually, the worker shall be permitted to do so.  In addition, in the event it is deemed necessary to physically examine any of the children, the female children shall be examined by a female CAS worker and the male children shall be examined by a male CAS worker, with a parent present.

2. The parents shall not physiclly discipline their children, notwithstanding any direction to the contrary.

3. Theparents shall make themselves available for scheduled appointments with a worker or designate from Family and Children's Services or such other Agency as the worker may designate.  A translator shall be present. The parents shall discuss and learn alternate methods of discipline of children from Family and Children's Services of St. Thomas and Elgin.

4. The parents shall not permit any other person to physically discipline their children.

5. The parents shall sign Releases of Information of Family and Children's Services of St. Thomas and Elgin, in regard to themselves of their children for the purposes of monitoring the children's safety and the terms of supervision.

6. The parents shall sign Releases of Information for of Family and Children's Services of St. Thomas and Elgin, in regard to themselves or their children for the purposes of monitoring the children's safety and the terms of supervision.

7. The parents shall ensure that the children receive medical attention as directed by Family and Children's Services and shall follow through with all recommendations of physicians.  The physicians shall be mutually agreeable to the parents and the Family and Children's Services.   Should medication and/or treatment be required, the parents may explain their preferences to the physician, but shall follow the physicians' recommendations.

8. The Family and Children's Services of St. Thomas and Elgin agrees to continue to learn about the religious tradition and cultural background of the family.
