DESECRATION OF MARRIAGE
The Desecration of
Marriage
by Charles McVety
The
Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Appeals, R. Roy McMurtry and his
colleagues have defiled the separation of church and state, debased the fabric
of democracy in contempt of parliament, violated the rights of Clergy in Ontario
and desecrated the sanctity of the institution of Holy Matrimony.
It is time for the Clergy of Canada to stand ramrod straight and having
done all to stand.
Are there fifty righteous in this city? Yesterday I talked to an Ontario Cabinet Minister on the topic of marriage. The Court had just issued an edict demanding that the Ontario Government register same sex marriages. The Minister told me the cabinet met and discussed the matter. Not one member of the Cabinet had heard a word from the Clergy so they agreed to register same sex marriages. The government leaders need to hear from the Clergy.
Mr.
McMurtry’s order is in gross breach of separation of Church and State. Our
society is founded upon the principle of Freedom of Religion therefore the
government cannot legislate religion. Canada
was established by brave men and women who did not want to follow the European
model of the state imposing its view of religion on the people.
A state-defined religion does not allow freedom to practice but demands
conformity to the ruler’s dictates. Canada did not and does not want the
government defining the ordinances of religion.
This is the responsibility of religious leaders and those who practice.
A Judge, Member of Parliament or any other government official cannot
dictate the redefinition of the sacred Judeo-Christian institution of marriage.
The
Court is acting in contempt of democracy and in contempt of parliament.
It frequently uses the phrase “a free and democratic society”.
A democratic society allows the people to elect officials and write laws. After many years as a politician Mr. McMurtry became the
Chief Justice of Ontario where he has decided to rewrite laws rather than
interpret them. In the decision
they wrongfully state that the “Court’s obligation (is) to reformulate a
common law rule”. Only the
legislative branch of the government can write laws. In fact democracy has
written upheld marriage however the dictates of three people have now desecrated
marriage.
Clergy
have rights in the Dominion of Canada however Mr. McMurty and his colleagues don’t
seem to agree. In the Decision’s
introduction they admit that the definition of marriage for Canada’s entire
history is from “Christendom”. The Church reserves its rights to maintain
its institution as defined by its leaders over the centuries. Many others have
conspired to invade the rights of marriage by attempting to impose their
definition. Some have aspired to
define marriage as one man married to several women.
Others have tried to use marriage to unite a brother and sister or cousin
to cousin. These attempts are a
direct encroachment on the Holy Institution of Marriage and have been rejected
by civilized democracies. The Court has no right to defile a rite of the Church.
The
“reformulation” of the definition of marriage by appointed Court rulers
grossly desecrates the most Holy Institution of Marriage. Mr. McMurtry agrees
that marriage is a “foundational societal institution”. It is the building block of civilization.
Marriage is the cornerstone of Christianity.
It is so sacred to God that He describes His Son as the “Groom” and
the Church the “bride”. Marriage was established by God over six thousand
years ago in the garden of Eden. To this day it is the underpinning of our
religion. Now the foundation has
been eroded. Marriage is no longer
is “the voluntary union of one man and one woman”.
The unelected Court sovereigns have rewritten the law and corrupted the
Holy Institution of Marriage.
“If the foundations be destroyed what shall the righteous do”. We need to pray, pray and pray. If God be for us who can be against us. We must pray that we will humble ourselves, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, then God will heal our land. God heal Toronto, Ontario and the Dominion of Canada.
