Should We All Be Gagged For The Gays?

The gay and homosexual lobby is trying to pass a law in Springfield putting them beyond reproach or comment, calling such comments discrimination. If passed, HB101 could be cause for suing you, or an employer, the Boy Scouts, the Catholic Church, your church, a renter, whatever, if the homosexual plaintiff feels disparaged.

That is against free speech, the First Amendment, and just the old plain American right to give your opinion. To make opinions subject to legal reprisals makes all of us subject to that American curse: the trial attorney.

What is a gay person anyway? They say it is homosexuals, lesbians, transgenders, cross-dressors, or any form of sexual behavior. This is quite a spread, ranging from the very unhealthy and aggressive homosexuals to other behavior that is odd, perhaps amusing, but not particularly harmful. Tolerance, kindness and courtesy should prevail for much of this, but there shouldn't be a law compelling acceptance of things that many
people don't like.

The gay lobby has caused this problem by coming out of the closet, or bedroom, and insisting that the rest of us like what they do. In fact, they want a law to make a new class of untouchables.

They have pushed their sexual behavior in front of the public and want to have it accepted as okay. Their concept of gay pride includes parading phallic symbols and giant sexual apparatuses down public streets.

The gay activists want the government to stay out of the bedroom. That sounds good, but then they should keep their antics private instead of flaunting them.

Consider the aggravating problem that a gay (homosexual) preference law presents to the Catholic Church which is presently facing the horrid results of condoning homosexuality within their walls. Pass such a law and the church would be powerless to remove these predators until after their sick crimes were provable and perhaps not then.

Homosexuals are society's misfits who form cabals, subgroups, within other organizations they enter and subvert. The Church viewed them only as sinners who deserved compassionate rebuke at most, but whose demoralizing potential was not perceived. As a result, the Church is paying a heavy price. This also happens in public schools, the armed forces, and businesses. Our society needs the First Amendment right of free speech to deal with developing problems before they are a crisis.

Behavioral classification should not receive legal protection on the basis of discrimination. General Colin Powell said: "Skin color is a benign, non-behavioral characteristic. Sexual orientation is perhaps the most profound of human behavioral characteristics. Comparison of the two is a convenient but invalid argument."

Putting homosexuality on the same level as race and calling it discrimination demeans the legitimate classes that exist because of immutable characteristics, such as skin color. Behavior should be the subject of comment regarding whether it is appropriate. Strange behavior has consequences. If you want to be strange, then keep it private.
Don't pass a law compelling acceptance.
