AN INTERVIEW

Dear Michael: I'm not going to repeat yet again how much I love your show. It might give you a swell head. We Christians have to remind ourselves again and again to remain humble. My father used to always tell us: "The higher you rise, the more humble you should be".

Your latest column in Toronto Sun Saturday (Aug 19) was a touching testimony of your Christian faith, and it brought tears to my eyes. Bless you.

I would like to focus here on your statement that you will do a show on homosexuality and related issues this Tuesday, tomorrow, Aug 22. As a retired history teacher, I have observed that the homosexual activists have been perhaps the most aggressive of all special interest groups the last decade or so in pushing their agenda in different spheres of life, and I have done a awful lot of reading and research on the subject. I am very concerned that your guests on the homosexual side of the debate might once again try to disseminate propaganda and disinformation and hide the TRUTH.

I believe TRUTH on the subject should be the prime consideration, not political correctness or going overboard not to hurt the feelings of participants.

As Christians (and people of other  major faiths) we believe in the principle of "Love the sinner, hate the sin". Thus, we love and respect the homosexual as a fellow human being created in the image of God ("Imago Dei"). But at the same time we disapprove of the homosexual's "sin" or wrong sexual conduct or behaviour that is universally condemned as unnatural, immoral, unhealthy and harmful to society and against Natural Law.

Thus, we as thoughtful and compassionate people must make a clear and intelligent distinction between persons (homosexuals) and their conduct (the homosexual sexual act and lifestyle). The activists deliberately blur this crucial distinction.

The homosexuals have all the basic rights of any citizen of this great country. What they really want is full acceptance of their sexual preference by society and special "rights" like same-sex "marriage", adoptions, teaching of homosexuality in public schools and the like. We must oppose these attempts with all the strength of our being since it threatens the social fabric of our civilization.

As faith-based people who love our families, we must have knowledge and Truth to counteract all the disinformation that impacts on the natural family of man, woman and child, and our traditional family values. As our scriptures tell us, "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge", "When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?".

Please allow me here to suggest basic reading material and sources for an informed citizen:

The MUST reading for all concerned Canadians is the aptly titled "War Against the Family" By William D. Gairdner (Ph.D), a leading voice of the silent majority in Canada. It is filled with documented facts, and has eye-opening chapters on homosexuality and the "gay" agenda.

The best book on homosexuality and the agenda, in my humble opinion, is "Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth" by Jeffrey Satinover, a medical doctor and psychiatrist. He has taught psychiatry at Yale University, and psychology and religion at Harvard.

One of the claims made by activists is that pedophilia, for example, is more common among heterosexuals than homosexuals. Not true. Here is what Dr. Satinover says:

"It is true (as we will document) that pedophilia is more common among homosexuals than among heterosexuals...But it is also true that the majority of homosexuals are not pedophiles.

Pedophilia is pertinent for two reasons: first, because it is statistically more closely associated with homosexuality than with heterosexuality; second - and more importantly - the dramatic shift of values that normalizes homosexuality must inevitably come to normalize all forms of sexuality. This is not merely a hypothetical argument. As the material that follows demonstrates, both here and abroad the normalization of homosexuality has been followed by a move to normalize all forms of sexuality, PEDOPHILIA EXPLICITLY INCLUDED, and to lower the age of consent laws so as to make it legal as well.

My purpose is to warn against the general lifting of sexual constraint, which the philosophy that undergirds gay activism necessarily promotes.

Recently, "The Journal of Homosexuality", a premier journal devoted a special issue to the "pedophilia debate". The editor of the journal, John DeCecco, also sits on the editorial board of "Paedika: The Journal of Paedophilia", a Dutch publication that sponsors research on pedophilia...

This special issue reflects the substantial, influential, and growing segment of the homosexual community that neither hides nor condemns pedophilia. Rather they argue that pedophilia is an acceptable aspect of sexuality, especially of homosexuality. Indeed, the "San Francisco Sentinel", a gay-activist newspaper, published a piece arguing that pedophilia is central to the male homosexual life. Thus an advocacy group exists, "The North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), which actively promotes homosexual pedophilia as an acceptable alternative form of sex...

Activists are aware of the adverse effects on the gay-rights movement that could result if people perceived any degree of routine association between homosexuality and pedophilia - as well as other forms of sexual expression that continued to be thought of as "deviant". They have denied this association by focusing instead on the (true) fact that - in absolute numbers - heterosexuals commit more child molestations than homosexuals. But careful studies show that pedophilia is far more common among homosexuals than heterosexuals. The greater absolute number of heterosexual cases reflects the fact that heterosexual males outnumber homosexual males by apx. thirtysix to one. Heterosexual child molestation cases outnumber homosexual cases by only eleven to one, implying that pedophilia is more than three times more common among homosexuals." (In other words, pedophilia is more common disproportionately among homosexuals).
